Year in Review 2012

Where to seriously begin???? This past year has been a year full of blessings for our family. We were blessed with little Kache Paisley Cook, Karlie and Chris' daughter.. She is Grandma and Grandpas pride and joy!!!! She is now 7 months old! Karlie is an incredible mother, I am so proud of her, Ally and Kaleb sure lucked out to have such a wonderful step mom, she does the cutest things with and for them... Karlie and Chris live in the house that Shawn and I lived in when we were newly married just down the road from us here in Warren, I love having them so close to home! Karlie is still working at West Weber Elementary and Chris is at Professional Plastics where he is the manager. KayCee has started working at Rocky Mountain Jr High for the Speech therepy department and also watches kache for Karlie while she works. She bought herself a horse this year called "Vegas" she puts so much effort into her horses and it is starting to pay off. She won West Haven Days Rodeo this year in Barrel Racing which paid her quite a nice chunk of money. She recently got her Professional card and is barrel racing at alot of Pro Rodeos now. This weekend she took 5th place with a 15.04 run. Shandee is now a big 10th grader and is looking forward to getting her drivers liscense in January!! She drives like a champ, you would think shes been driving for years!! :) She is High School Rodeoing and is doing really well, she competes in Pole Bending and Barrels. Shandee broke her foot this year and had a to wear a cast for six weeks, she broke it jumping off a play ground! Shandee has been working really hard on accidemics this year and it is really showing, Im really proud of her grades!!! Kynedee is a 9th grader and has up until August playing competition Soccer for Rampage, that keeps her and me quite busy.. She is an incredible soccer player. She plays Defender and has a heck of a foot on her. In September we went to Kynedees yearly Cardiac appointment and got the bad news that Kynedees pulmonary valve was not doing its job, and that we would need to go and meet with a Cardiothorasic Surgeon quickly and get things taken care of. On September 17, 2012 Kynedee under went open heart surgery where she was given a new Valve. While they were in there they also found she had a hole in her heart that would have to be repaired as well. Kynedee spent two days in the ICU and then 3 days in a regular room at Primary Childrens Hospital. Kynedee will have to have her valve replaced depending on the valve at least every 9 years. The staff at the hospital were incredible and I am ever so grateful to them and what they did for her. She was not allowed to go back to school for 6 weeks so we had a lady that came out to our home and taught her. She returned back to school on October 30th. She is healing nicely but is still having to take medicine to keep her heart beating in a regular rythem, the Dr is hoping that with in 6 months she will not have to take the medicine any more, if at that time it is still beating incorrectly they will put in a pace maker. Now she is looking forward to returning to soccer when she gets the ok from her Doctor and trying out next fall for Fremont Highs soccer team.. Hadley is now a 4th grader and at the top of his class. At the begining of the year the did a dibbles test with all the children to see what level they were on. Average level for a 4th grader was a score of 90, Hadley scored a 143. His teacher tells us that he is Brilliant! He is also an incredible artist. It amazes me the talent that he has. His teacher told me that I need to find an after school art program for gifted students to enroll him in, so we are looking... He also loves to play basket ball and is excited to start playing next month. As for Shawn and me, we are just enjoying the ride. We feel very blessed to have the wonderful family that we have, and we enjoy the little things in life that come our way each day. We are grateful this year especially for medical technology and those who perform life saving events each and every day, how lucky we are to live in this day and age!!! LIFE IS GOOD!!
